To enhance political and ideological education, foster national pride, and elevate awareness of the Party's illustrious revolutionary heritage, on July 19, 2025, the Party Cell of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine orchestrated “a spiritual journey” excursion to the historical site of Minh Dam Base in Dat Do District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. This is a pragmatic exercise within the comprehensive political and ideological agenda for all Party members in the Party Cell.

Significant historical landmark in the Dat Do mountains and woods
Minh Dam Base is a site linked to the enduring and resolute battle of the military and populace of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province throughout the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism. Situated in the Minh Dam Mountain range (inside Phuoc Hai commune and Dat Do town), the base once served as a refuge, training facility, and command center for local revolutionary troops.
The designation Minh Dam honors two valiant revolutionary fighters who made sacrifices at this location: Comrade Bui Cong Minh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Comrade Le Van Dam, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. The comrades' sacrifice is a profound monument to their unwavering dedication to the revolutionary cause and a treasured emblem of their invincible fighting spirit.

Expedition to the origin - Expedition of consciousness and accountability
In the serene greenery of the mountains and woods, the Party cell delegation solemnly presented incense to honor the courageous martyrs at the Memorial House inside the historical monument. The incense offering ritual was conducted with solemnity, conveying profound thanks to the preceding generation of fathers and brothers who dedicated their life to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Subsequent to the event, the group received briefings and saw historical landmarks, including the bunker, the Provincial Party Committee's meeting location, and the military training grounds. Every crag and shrub in this area has the scars of the days marked by fire and smoke, when blood and tears were expended to achieve significant wins.
The tour guide's narratives allowed the Party members to experience the challenging but valorous age, enhancing their appreciation for peace and underscoring the contemporary generation's duty to uphold and further the revolution's accomplishments.

Thematic initiatives and linking the Party Cell
A significant component of the trip was the themed activity focused on “Studying and adhering to the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh - advancing revolutionary traditions in the contemporary era”. The gathering took place on the base grounds, surrounded by serene environment but imbued with historical significance.
The Party members deliberated on the obligation to exemplify leadership, the ethos of serving the populace, and the pioneering and model role in executing political responsibilities within the unit. The Party Cell Secretary asserted: “Every cadre and Party member must consistently cultivate their political fortitude and revolutionary principles, embody the spirit of commitment and resilience of preceding generations, to serve the nation today with their abilities and dedication”.
Promoting historic values - Igniting contemporary relevance
The “a spiritual journey” excursion to Minh Dam base served as both a commemoration of the past and a means to cultivate solidarity, responsibility, and revolutionary values among each Party member in the Party Cell.
Upon concluding the voyage, the Party members distinctly experienced a heightened sense of national pride and a profound recognition of their individual contributions to the endeavor of constructing and safeguarding the Fatherland in the contemporary period. This will serve as a significant spiritual resource, enhancing the energy required to effectively accomplish designated duties, deserving of the confidence of both the populace and the Party.
