On
the morning of September 16, 2025, at Duong Quang Trung Hall – Campus A – Hoa
Hung Facility, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine,
successfully held its first scientific seminar of the 2025–2026 academic year
under the theme: “Guidelines for Writing and Publishing Scientific Articles in
International Journals.”
The
seminar was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai, Pharm.D. – Acting
Vice Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, who also served as the
Chair of the session. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of
scientific research and international publications in enhancing academic
reputation and affirming the university’s standing within the higher education
system.
The
event attracted over 200 participants, including lecturers, staff, researchers,
postgraduate trainees, and students both within and outside the university. The
seminar was held on-site and livestreamed via the Faculty’s official Facebook
page (Khoa Dược PNTU | Fac. of Pharmacy – Pham Ngoc Thach University of
Medicine). Participants engaged with insightful presentations that offered both
practical knowledge and valuable experience:
Prof.
Dr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Pharm.D. – Vice Rector, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of
Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, delivered a talk on “How to Write
Scientific Articles for International Publication.” His presentation
highlighted the essential requirements for developing and presenting a research
project in the form of an international journal article, from idea development
to manuscript preparation. He also shared invaluable personal experiences in
conducting and publishing research, as well as perspectives from his role as a
peer reviewer for specialized journals.
Dr.
Vo Thi Kim Khuyen – Lecturer, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and
Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, presented on “How to Search for and Select
Reputable International Journals.” Her talk provided participants with tools to
identify quality journals, avoid predatory publishers, and develop strategies
for selecting suitable publication outlets for different types of research.
The
seminar fostered a lively academic atmosphere, created opportunities for
knowledge exchange between lecturers and students, and inspired a stronger
spirit of research among both undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
The

members, and all attendees for their contributions to the success of the first
scientific seminar of the 2025–2026 academic year.
