On August 14, 2025, at
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, the Scientific Council convened an
acceptance meeting for a fundamental scientific research project titled:
"Evaluating the Effectiveness of the Interdisciplinary Cooperation
Capacity Development Model for Students of Pham Ngoc Thach University of
Medicine" (Code: CS.2023.05). This project holds practical
significance, seeking to enhance collaborative skills among the medical,
nursing, and pharmaceutical sectors - an essential element of holistic health
care.
The project leader is
Dr. Vo Thi Ha, a pharmacist and Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacology -
Clinical Pharmacy, possessing extensive experience in education, research, and
the execution of interdisciplinary training initiatives. Dr. Pharmacist Vo Thi
Ha, through her fervor and scientific leadership, along with the research team,
has constructed, executed, and assessed a model for enhancing interdisciplinary
collaboration capabilities tailored to the institution's training
characteristics.
Outstanding products of
the topic include:
1. Publication: Vo Thi Ha (2025). The effects of
an interprofessional education workshop on medical, nursing, and pharmacy
students: A pre- and post-intervention research. Pham Ngoc Thach Medical and
Pharmaceutical Journal. 2025; Volume 4, Issue 2: Pages 143-152. DOI: 10.59715/pntjmp.4.2.16
The study has disseminated experimental research findings, illustrating the
beneficial impact of the interdisciplinary training model on enhancing the
collaborative skills of medical, nursing, and pharmacy students.
2. Handbook for
Student: This
document serves as a resource for learning and training, offering principles,
methodologies, and illustrative examples to assist students in cultivating
communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities within a
multidisciplinary context.
During the acceptance
session, the Council expressed significant appreciation for the originality and
relevance of the issue. The model was constructed on a robust theoretical
foundation and validated through practical testing, ensuring its suitability for
widespread implementation in the school's training programmes. The Council
members recognised the comprehensive investment in research methodologies,
encompassing design, data collection, analysis, and conclusion formulation.
The study findings of
the subject have the potential to contribute to innovation in teaching
techniques, boosting the spirit of multidisciplinary cooperation - one of the
essential characteristics that medical, nursing and pharmacy students need to
have before joining the practice setting. This also exemplifies the
relationship between scientific research activities and training practices at
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
The acceptance
session concluded with a strong consensus from the Council regarding the
approval and assessment of the topic as meeting exceptional standards. This
achievement not only validates the research capabilities of the implementation
team but also paves the way for future interdisciplinary enquiries.
