INTRODUCTION
The Department of Pharmaceutics - Biopharmaceutics is a professional department of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, conducting teaching activities in the fields of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics for various pharmacy human resource training programs. The department carries out multiple scientific research projects, with its key spearhead direction being pharmaceutical formulation science. Currently, the department consists of 06 lecturers and teaching assistants, including 01 Associate Professor, 01 Doctor (Ph.D.), and 04 Masters.
HISTORY OF FORMATION
The Department of Pharmaceutics - Biopharmaceutics was established in 2017, concurrently with the establishment of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. At present, the foremost task of the Department of Pharmaceutics - Biopharmaceutics is to ensure the quality of the teaching program in accordance with the training objectives of formulation technology for full-time undergraduate students. Simultaneously, the department places great emphasis on scientific research and domestic collaboration. The department regularly implements topics and projects in the field of pharmaceutical formulation, as well as exchanges experiences and cooperation with domestic experts and companies within its teaching and research domains.

FUNCTIONS
- Providing basic knowledge and skills in Pharmaceutical Formulation;
- Providing advanced knowledge and skills in Pharmaceutical Formulation and related theories.
TASKS
- Teaching modules for students and trainees with content belonging to the foundational industry knowledge; industry and specialized knowledge as assigned by the Faculty. Instructing basic practicums and clinical practicums;
- Guiding students and trainees in scientific research; implementing specialized projects, bachelor's graduation theses, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations;
- Developing the framework training programs and specific training programs; compiling textbooks, curricula, learning materials, lectures, exam question banks, and related answer keys for undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, and other subjects;
- Participating in education and training quality assurance in accordance with current regulations: evaluating learners' academic outcomes, building and updating exam question banks, determining assessment methods, organizing assessments, and effectively managing and archiving academic records;
- Participating in science and technology activities in related fields: scientific research, scientific reporting, writing scientific articles; topics and projects on management science.
- Formulating and organizing the implementation of directions, master plans, and development plans for the department; building a strong department in all aspects;
- Managing and effectively utilizing the facilities and equipment of the university, faculty, and department;
- Coordinating closely with other departments/units within the Faculty of Pharmacy or external units (Department of Health, hospitals under the Ministry of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, pharmaceutical distribution and business companies, etc.) to enhance the practicality and multidisciplinary nature of teaching and research oriented towards pharmaceutical sciences.
- Coordinating with other departments within the faculty and committees under the Faculty Office in production and service activities;
- Participating in the activities of the Party organization, mass organizations, and social work;
- Performing other duties assigned by the Rector and the Dean of the Faculty.

- Advising and proposing the implementation of contents according to the functions and tasks of the Department specified in this regulation;
- Advising and proposing amendments to contents related to the Department in this Regulation to align with reality and ensure compliance with current regulations;
- Exercising other authorities as prescribed by law.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strictly complying with and abiding by the provisions of the law and this Regulation;
- Taking comprehensive responsibility before the Dean for the implementation of activities within the functions, tasks, and authorities specified in this regulation;
- Ensuring legality, scientific integrity, and confidentiality (if necessary) as prescribed when performing activities within the functions, tasks, and authorities specified in this regulation.

- 2022-2023: Advanced Labor Collective (Decision No. 4182/QĐ-TĐHYKPNT dated November 10, 2023) and Rector's Certificate of Merit for successfully completing tasks in the 2022-2023 academic year (Decision No. 4128/QĐ-TĐHYKPNT dated November 8, 2023) from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
- 2023-2024: Advanced Labor Collective (Decision No. 344/QĐ-TĐHYKPNT dated September 13, 2024) and Rector's Certificate of Merit for successfully completing tasks in the 2023-2024 academic year (Decision No. 3462/QĐ-TĐHYKPNT dated September 16, 2024) from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
