In the continuous journey of development at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Pham
Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, dedicated, responsible, and passionate
lecturers have always been the cornerstone of educational quality and academic
prestige. For the academic year 2024-2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy is proud to honor Mr.
Nguyen Kim Thuan, MSc., Pharm., Lecturer of the Department of Pharmaceutics and
Biopharmaceutics, as an exemplary figure embodying the spirit of dedication,
professional passion, and unwavering commitment to education.
Mr. Thuan has been closely associated with teaching and scientific research
at the Faculty of Pharmacy since its early days. Over nearly a decade of
service, he has consistently demonstrated seriousness, responsibility, and
creativity in every lecture and academic activity. His lectures are not merely
knowledge transmission, they are inspirational journeys that unlock potential and guide students
toward professional development in pharmaceutical sciences.
Born into a family with three generations devoted to the pharmaceutical
profession, Mr. Nguyen Kim Thuan, was nurtured from an early age by a legacy of
knowledge and a spirit of service to the community. His grandfather was a
lecturer at the National Pharmacist Training School
- one of the cradles of Vietnam’s
early pharmaceutical education. His mother worked as a pharmacist at the former
Level II Pharmaceutical Corporation, the predecessor of Central Pharmaceutical
Joint Stock Company No. 2 (now known as CODUPHA). Growing up in such a rich
tradition, Mr. Thuan developed a strong desire to heal and care for others.
Although he was unable to pursue a career in medicine as initially hoped, he
chose the path of pharmacy as a meaningful alternative
- training future generations of
pharmacists and healthcare professionals to fulfill that mission. For him, it
was not merely a career choice, but a continuation of his family’s ideals
- a way to realize his aspiration
to save lives through knowledge and the heart of an educator.
Students admire Mr. Thuan for his warmth, approachability, and engaging
teaching style that is both easy to understand and aligned with current trends.
A former student from the Class of 2019
shared: “He is a passionate lecturer who always supports us, both during and
outside of class. Beyond academic knowledge, he shares valuable life lessons
and real-world experiences. In every lecture, he skillfully incorporates vivid
examples and relatable stories that help us grasp the material more easily.”
His dedication extends far beyond the classroom. “At any faculty event, he
is always present and enthusiastic. We can truly feel his passion for his work
and his wholehearted commitment to every moment he shares with us.” – the
student expressed with deep appreciation. Mr. Thuan is a devoted academic advisor who pays close
attention to each student’s journey. He has a remarkable habit of remembering
every student’s name, fostering a sincere and lasting connection. These
relationships often continue well beyond graduation, as he remains a mentor,
senior colleague, and trusted companion in both career and life. For students
facing personal or academic difficulties, he is often the first to reach out,
offering timely encouragement and support. His empathy and sense of
responsibility have helped many overcome challenges and stay on course toward
their dreams.
Faculty leaders and colleagues hold Mr. Thuan in high regard for his
professionalism, humility, and unwavering work ethic. He is a source of
inspiration, igniting passion in others and setting an example for younger
lecturers to follow. His contributions to training a generation of capable,
resilient pharmacists with a strong sense of community service are a testament
