On the morning of July 23, 2026, at the 1,000-seat Auditorium (E3), Levels 3–4, Building E, Tan Nhut Campus, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine solemnly held the 5th Doctor of Pharmacy Graduation Ceremony (2021–2026). The ceremony marked not only the successful completion of a five-year academic journey filled with dedication and perseverance, but also the beginning of a new chapter in which graduates will devote themselves to serving the community and advancing the pharmacy profession.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University; Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan, Former Secretary of the Party Committee and Former President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai, Vice President; Dr. Phan Nguyen Thanh Van, Vice President; Dr. Pham Quoc Dung, Specialist Level II, Vice President; representatives from partner universities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies; leaders of the University's faculties, offices, and affiliated units; faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy; parents and family members of the graduates; as well as representatives from media agencies who attended and reported on the event.
As the fifth graduating cohort of the Faculty of Pharmacy, 71 Doctor of Pharmacy graduates were officially recognized in the third graduation round of 2026, achieving an overall graduation rate of 90%. Among them, 11 graduates (15.49%) earned Excellent academic distinction.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai, Vice President, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and their families on this significant milestone. He emphasized the University's commitment to educational excellence and the promising future of pharmacists trained at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. He also expressed his hope that the new graduates would continue to uphold professionalism and ethical values, maximize the knowledge and skills they have acquired, pursue lifelong learning and innovation, and make meaningful contributions to healthcare and the well-being of the community.
In his congratulatory address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, expressed his sincere gratitude to the parents, whose unwavering support and encouragement had been an invaluable source of strength throughout their children's academic journey. He also acknowledged the dedication of the University's faculty members, staff, and employees for their tireless efforts in teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students, thereby nurturing generations of pharmacists with strong professional competence and ethical integrity. Furthermore, he extended his appreciation to hospitals, training institutions, pharmaceutical enterprises, and partner organizations for their continued collaboration in providing students with valuable practical training opportunities, significantly contributing to the quality of pharmacy education.
Representing the graduating class, Mr. Nguyen Si Dong delivered a heartfelt speech expressing profound gratitude to parents, city leaders, the University Board, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the leadership of hospitals, companies, manufacturing facilities, faculty members, and academic advisors who had supported and guided the students throughout their university years. He also encouraged his fellow graduates to move forward with confidence, embrace new challenges, dedicate themselves to serving society, and continuously grow both personally and professionally.
The degree presentation ceremony for the new pharmacists was held with solemnity and reverence in accordance with academic tradition. At the event, the university also awarded Certificates of Merit to six outstanding students for their excellent academic performance and conduct throughout the program.
