The Faculty of
Pharmacy – Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, organized a session to
introduce and provide guidance on quality assurance activities for the academic
year 2025–2026 on the morning of December 30, 2025, at Classroom 2 – Building C
– Hoa Hung Campus. The session was conducted in the context of Vietnam’s higher
education system continuing to advance comprehensive and fundamental reforms,
with quality assurance and accreditation identified as core pillars for
improving training effectiveness, strengthening transparency and
accountability, and enhancing regional and international integration. This
activity played an important role in aligning awareness, updating new
regulations, and guiding the consistent implementation of quality assurance practices
across the Faculty of Pharmacy, thereby contributing to the sustainable
improvement of educational quality and academic management.
During the session,
the first topic presented focused on the Regulations on accreditation of higher
education programs at all levels in accordance with Circular No.
04/2025/TT-BGDĐT. This presentation clarified the new provisions, key
requirements, and fundamental principles governing self-assessment and external
assessment of academic programs, with particular emphasis on learning outcomes,
curriculum structure, academic staff, teaching and learning activities, student
assessment, research, and quality assurance conditions. The dissemination of
Circular No. 04/2025/TT-BGDĐT enabled faculty members and academic managers of
the Faculty of Pharmacy to thoroughly understand the legal framework, thereby
proactively reviewing and improving academic programs in alignment with
accreditation standards and the evolving needs of the pharmacy profession.
The second topic
addressed the Regulations on measuring and evaluating the level of achievement
of program learning outcomes by students at Pham Ngoc Thach University of
Medicine. This content represents a fundamental component of the internal
quality assurance system, ensuring that graduates achieve the expected
competencies, professional skills, transferable skills, and ethical qualities
as stated in the published program objectives. The guidance clarified
methodologies for developing alignment matrices linking program learning
outcomes with courses, assessment tools, evidence, and data sources, while
emphasizing the use of assessment results as a scientific basis for continuous
program improvement.
In parallel, the regulations
on measuring and evaluating the level of achievement of course learning
outcomes by students were presented and systematically analyzed. This section
highlighted the role of individual courses in contributing to program learning
outcomes, along with requirements for developing detailed course syllabi,
defining course learning outcomes, and selecting appropriate teaching and
assessment methods. The evaluation of course learning outcomes was emphasized
not merely as grading, but as a data-driven process to accurately reflect
student achievement, thereby enhancing teaching effectiveness and learning
quality.
Another key component
of the session was the Guidance on record keeping and the list of course
documentation required for accreditation purposes in accordance with Circular
No. 04/2025/TT-BGDĐT. This guidance helped faculty members and relevant units
clearly understand the requirements for evidence systems in quality assurance
and accreditation, including types of documents to be retained, retention
periods, storage formats, and the responsibilities of individuals and units
involved. Proper, systematic, and consistent record keeping not only supports
accreditation activities but also enhances professionalism, transparency, and
efficiency in academic management within the Faculty of Pharmacy.
In addition, the
session devoted significant attention to the evaluation plan and survey
instruments for collecting feedback from stakeholders, including students,
alumni, employers, faculty members, and other relevant parties. This topic
introduced the survey toolkit, feedback collection procedures, and regulations
governing stakeholder consultation as stipulated by the University. Stakeholder
feedback was identified as a critical information channel for objectively
assessing the extent to which academic programs meet practical needs, and as an
essential data source for program review, adjustment, and continuous
improvement.
Through this session
on quality assurance activities for the academic year 2025–2026, the Faculty of
Pharmacy – Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine clearly demonstrated its
commitment to standardizing, systematizing, and enhancing the effectiveness of
quality assurance practices across the Faculty. The activity not only ensured
that faculty members and academic managers clearly understood regulations and
implementation procedures but also contributed to fostering a culture of
quality that is learner-centered, focused on continuous improvement, and
oriented toward sustainable development. This serves as an important foundation
for the Faculty of Pharmacy to further strengthen its academic reputation,
improve educational quality, and better respond to societal and professional
demands in the evolving context of healthcare and pharmaceutical education.
